The question I have is why not use a taper jig for a router. Seems it would make less strain so you wouldn''t have to keep straighyning out the blanks. The actual bamboo rod, at least one made with planing forms or CNC Mill with DynaRod smoothed data points, does not go from straight line to straight line. Unless of course it is a SLT. I am sure the same could be said of a rod made from strips on most any Analog Milling Machine where the pattern bars were fine tuned with a file.
